Pioneer Draft ShieldLaboratory weighing couldn't be any more affordable than the Pioneer PA64 available from Ohaus.  Not only can you save money, but your also purchasing from one of the leading balance manufacturers in the world.  Ohaus Corporation has over 90 years experience delivering quality weighing instruments for all types of applications including education, laboratory and industrial.

The Pioneer Series replaces the older Adventurer Pro SL.  The original Adventurer Pro is still currently available, but Ohaus Pioneer Series is the more affordable solution.  It was first introduced to the lab market in 2008 with a new product design and offers all you need for basic weighing.  Its high level of accuracy at such an economical price has competitors spinning wheels trying to keep up.

Whether you are teaching students the fundamentals of lab analysis using precision weighing equipment or you are working in a laboratory, the Ohaus PA64 is the least expensive option which increments in 0.1 milligram intervals.  This precise resolution features an accuracy of ± 0.2 mg and comes standard with a glass draft shield for stability during the weighing process.

While the Ohaus Pioneer balance is ideal for basic weighing, it also includes other standard features such as percent weighing, parts counting, and an RS232 interface for transferring data to a PC or printer.  In order for the data communication to work, you do need to purchase Ohaus Collect or Winwedge software so your computer can interpret the scale's data.  An adapter kit is also required to link them together, and each of these items is listed as a separate available option.  Your computer must have a 9-pin serial port in order to connect to the laboratory balance, however most computers are equipped with this port.  At this point in time, there is no way to connect through USB without buying a separate adapter.  It is highly recommended that you manually check for the 9-pin port on the back of your computer box before purchasing.
