The PA512 toploading balance from the Ohaus Pioneer Series is the least expensive weighing option in the series with a resolution of one hundredth of a gram.  It offers 51,000 divisions, providing you with a maximum weight capacity of 510 grams.  There are several other precision models with higher capacities or more precise resolutions if you require a balance with slightly different specifications.  Each model in the Ohaus Pioneer Series not only performs basic weighing, but also features parts counting and percent weighing functions for more advanced applications. 

Aside from being very affordable, the Pioneer PA512 offers the quality and dependability you have come to expect from the Ohaus brand of precision weighing instruments.  Their reputation serves as reason alone to purchase one of these toploading balances, but once you consider the price, it becomes a no-brainer.

The Ohaus Pioneer precision balance features an RS232 interface for data communication.  This feature enables you to connect the PA512 to a thermal printer, dot matrix printer or to a PC.  In order for this to work properly, you will need to purchase the adapter kit to connect the balance to your computer's serial port or to the printer you decided to purchase.  In addition, your computer will need you to install Winwedge or Ohaus Collect software for the computer to be able to see the balance.  Once installed, you should be able to automatically dump the Pioneer's data directly into a spreadsheet for quick and easy documentation.
