Tree LCT-3LB parts counting scale is the most accurate unit in the new LCT Series.  When purchasing a digital parts counter, accuracy is the key to its effectiveness.  Most first time buyers are determined to purchase an inventory control scale with the highest possible capacity so they can weigh as much as possible in one shot.  Sometimes you may be able to get away with this, but it limits the amount of different uses you might be able to get out of a digital counting scale.  The limitation you face when buying the highest capacity model available is you sacrifice resolution significantly.  When your resolution can only determine higher piece weights, you have eliminated any chance of counting smaller parts.  For this reason, we recommend doing the exact opposite and purchasing a higher resolution and lower capacity.  This scenario allows you to weigh small parts, but it also allows you to weigh larger pieces, just maybe not to the level of capacity another model would.  Basically, this means you would need to weigh out parts a couple of times rather than all at once.

The next thing to consider when purchasing a counting scale for the first time is what is the highest weight of an object you need to count and what is the smallest weight.  Obviously, if one item you regularly need to count weighs a pound and another item weighs 0.001 lb, you would need to purchase 2 separate parts counters since it wouldn't make any sense to buy a 3 lb capacity model that can only count 3 pieces.  It is imperative that before you purchase any counting scale, you have an idea as to how much the object you need to count weighs, otherwise you might as well shoot darts in the dark.  Another thing that needs to be addressed is sometimes the parts you need to count cannot be accurately counted on a typical inventory scale.  When your pieces are extremely light in weight such as a small paper clip, you must buy a precision balance that has a parts counting function.  These balances are quite different in the sense that they do not offer 3 different displays, but instead you set the mode to parts counting and then set up a reference weight being your sample piece. Once you have determined the weight of one piece, you may then count the parts as necessary.
