Aside from a high capacity, the HRB Series includes an RS232 interface for data communications with a printer or a computer.  It can perform parts counting and also features a large backlit LCD display.  Calibration can be configured with various size calibration weights which are sold separately.  If you do not own an external mass but have an object or a box with a known weight, you may configure the HRB-10K to calibrate with that object or box and save yourself even more money.   In order to actually calibrate the high capacity balance using this method, you will most likely need another shipping scale to verify the known weight is indeed accurate or else you risk inaccuracy.

One of the benefit of Tree's HRB10K is its compact size and high weighing capacity.  The price of most balances that increment 0.1 g all the way to 10,000 g can easily exceed $1000.  While we would never take anything away from those other brands, Tree certainly offers the best value.
